- This was a fast paced novel, full of the suspense and sweet romance that I've come to enjoy from this mother/daughter writing team.
Liam and Maurie have been best friends for years, not to mention business partners. Both of them have feelings for the other but they of course don't want to jeopardize their relationship by stepping into the territory of dating and loving each other.
Yet unforeseen forces have gathered all around them and force them to try to outsmart and stay ahead of the one person nobody suspected of being bad, Maurie's fiancé.
Can Liam convince her that she isn't just a rebound? Can Maurie allow her heart to be hurt again when everything is pointing at Liam's unreliability in relationships?
How far will anyone go to protect and cover their biggest secrets? Everyone has something to hide and something to uncover? Who will reveal it all first and who will come out victor?
Gun chases, sandy beaches, sailing, paintings, marshmallows, broken glass, missing sunglasses, bubba gump trivia, sweet kisses, false identities, cover ups, pounding hearts, a wedding, ice cream and a movie and so much more is within this page turner.
This is a great clean read I'd recommend for anyone who needs a quick read with suspense and spice. The setting and artwork makes the story great and easy to get sucked into.
Happy Reading!!! - This was a clean romantic suspense novel. I enjoyed it, although certain aspects of the story bothered me. Some of the story felt rushed, while other parts were sweet and flowed well. I also felt that a little bit more explanation was needed for some instances. The heroine in the story bothered me with her stubborn mistrust and how she kept insisting she was right, when we as readers all know she is wrong. I guess I felt like her mistrust wasn't warranted, as she kept insisting she knew our hero insecure and out, but yet wouldn't believe him when he told her things about the man she was dating.
- Well, I'm 3/4 of the way through this book and am wondering how in the world did it get classified under Christian Mystery & Suspense. Yes, it is certainly mystery & suspense, but Christian? I have yet to run across anything Christian about it. No, it doesn't use fowl and offensive language nor are there sex scenes presented at every turn, but still there is no mention, thus far, of any type of personal relationship with Jesus. (Oh, I get it, it's a mystery as to why it's under Christian Mystery and Suspense!!!) Thankfully, it wasn't expensive or I would have been sorely disappointed paying for something so misclassified.
I also am having a bit of a problem with the story as presented. Really??? Seems a bit unbelievable. Not to mention the fact I want to shake the teeth right out of Maurie. She is just plain annoying. I wonder if she has any ability to think things through. While I'm okay with the book as written, I don't think I will pursue any other writings by the authors. - Love on the Rocks (Hawaiian Billionaire Romance 1) - PG13

If a woman has a best friend that she supposedly loves/loved - his opinion would be worth its weight in gold. I could not get past that te main character - who chose to disregard her best friend/former love interest's advice on the new boyfriend. She chose to turn her back on her best friend due to the fact that he insisted the 'new' like really new boyfriend was not what he seemed and possibly dangerous. Any woman - who cared about her well-being - would THANK someone they trusted when they revealed details that should be red flags about a guy that didn't have her best interest at heart.
It just wasn't believable to the point that I stopped reading before the halfway mark. - Liam and Maurie, do they love each other or are they just life long friends?
Liam is about to be married, but to who? Maurie is engaged, but again to who?
Confusing? Oh yes but you can find out everything by getting this book and reading or listening to it. I didn't think I'd like it but I was pleasantly surprised, I actually loved it. I'm so glad I took the opportunity to listen to it using my Echo Dot, Alexa made it very interesting.
I recommend that you get this book too - I loved this book a lot. It was a sweet romantic story with a suspenseful and mystery plot. Maurie knows that she is in love with Liam, but he is abut to marry another. Cooper loves Maurie and she accepts his proposal of marriage. After that everything changes. Maurie is caught in the middle not knowing who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. Stealing, murder, dog kidnapping, and so much more made it impossible to stop reading. Jennifer Youngblood has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I know if you read this book - she will become yours too.
