• Reading this book has been a reminder of my teenage years. It has evoked memories of some my experiences growing up. But one thing I have learnt throughout life which is healing only comes through forgiveness and that forgiveness is a choice. Let go Mya and be free. Trust God and watch him take you to greater heights. Good job on finding the courage to put your experiences in a book. Be bold and remember God loves you dearly. Pray for those who hurt you and see how God can bless you when you do. All the best!
• It’s easy to tear someone down. It’s also easy to get comfortable being down, once when you experience trauma over and over again. But, this young lady has decided to do the thing that is NOT SO EASY, and that is to LEAD her WAY OUT of the trauma and tragedy of abuse and FIND HER VOICE and POWER on the inside and forge through! I am so proud of her and of this book which is an EXCELLENT LITERARY WORK! Her writing is honest, compelling, and compassionate and every young person should take a page from her book (literally and figuratively) and find their voice, their power and stand up to the responsibility of quoting those who are determined to hurt and hate others! You go Mya! I look forward to your next book!!
• I love how Mya doesn’t hold anything back in Truth Be Told. She writes like a seasoned author and deals with some tough topics that unfortunately a lot of families go through.
  
  Adults should read it to better understand how their children (particularly teens and preteens) think and respond to issues within the household. Mya’s way of unfolding her journey keeps you reading to the very last page and I appreciate how she encourages other teenagers in the final chapter. Keep pushing Mya, you have a bright future ahead of you.

• This is wonderful that a 16 year old in this time is able to share what hides behind most of our eyes, teens and adults. It helps to know for me that I'm not along in the things I feel towards certain family or that its ok to feel the way I feel. Thank you Mya, I fear a little less because of you.
